The oldest complete Hebrew Bible in the world is the Leningrad Codex. Housed in the Russian National Library in St. Petersburg (formerly Leningrad), catalogued as “Firkovich B 19 A,” and dated 1009 C.E., the Leningrad Codex stands as the single most important extant manuscript for establishing the text of the Hebrew Bible and is the basis for virtually all critical editions of the Hebrew Bible.

As the fruit of a landmark publishing event in biblical scholarship, the Leningrad Codex is now available in a beautiful facsimile edition. Painstakingly produced in cooperation and consultation with the Ancient Biblical Manuscript Center and West Semitic Research, this scholar’s edition of the Codex features a high-quality hardcover format and includes 966 black-and-white photographs and sixteen full-color, illuminated carpet pages that capture in precise detail the Codex’s lovely medieval artwork and other striking details.

Available now for the first time to scholars, synagogues, and churches, this beautiful facsimile edition of the Leningrad Codex will be an invaluable resource for all serious students of the Hebrew Bible.
