| A treasure trove of unique, ready-to-use children’s sermons, requiring little or no preparation. Preachers spend enough time agonizing over what they’re going to preach about on Sunday. They don’t need to worry about the children’s sermon, too. Because children think differently, the children’s sermon time is sometimes an “anything goes” event. The Abingdon Children’s Sermon Library: Volume I will give preachers, and others who give the children's sermon, a ready resource of experiential children’s sermons to turn to, and will take the panic out of preparing the children’s sermon time. 0.41" H x 8.52" L x 5.88" W (0.46 lbs) 126 pages Publisher: Abingdon Press SAMPLE FROM BOOK Becoming a Child of God God sent a person to tell us that. God sent his only Son, Jesus Christ. But even then, God wasn’t done. (Looking at the adults) God wants our children to know, really know that they are children of God, that God loves them. Another way God has to tell them that is through us. We need some people to come and give them this message. (Counting kids) we need fourteen people or more to come forward, give each one of these kids a hug, and say they are God’s special children. (Encourage adults to come forward. After they have interacted with children and returned to their seats, address the children again.) So, let me ask you one more time; who are you? C: Children of God! L: That’s right! Let’s have a prayer and thank God that we are, and ask God to help us tell some other people that good news as well . . . (prayer). —Jeff Hutcheson |
