Wycliffe's greatest achievement was the translation of the Bible into English. One of Europe's most renowned philosophers and scholars, John Wycliffe chose to serve the common people. He exposed the superstitions that had displaced Biblical doctrine in the medieval church. Wycliffe took enormous risks to provide the Scriptures for the people. The film provides valuable insight into conditions in the 14th-century pre-Reformation church and shows why Wycliffe is hailed as the "Morningstar of the Reformation." He set the stage for later reformers especially John Hus, the Czech hero whose reforms were carried forward by the Unitas Fratrum, and later through Zinzendorf and the Moravians. This dramatic film inspires faith and develops appreciation for the treasure of our Bible. Winner of "Best Film of the Year" Award from the Christian Film Distribution Association.
