In the 1980s, Andrea Jaeger was a tennis phenomenon, she turned pro at the age of 14 and was the #2 ranked female tennis player in the world. Despite her success on the courts, she knew that tennis was merely the platform to her real calling in life: to help children in unfortunate circumstances.

Although not from a religious background, Jaeger had a constant and supportive companion in God, who guided her through the often isolating experience of being a child prodigy in the competitive, adult world of professional sports, and led her to visit and buy toys for hospitalized children around the world. When a career-ending injury at the age of 19 set Jaeger on the path to helping children on a full-time basis, she gave the earnings that would have secured her retirement to co-found The Silver Lining Foundation, benefiting children with cancer. From humble beginnings, the foundation today assists children and their families with specially designed programs that bring joy, comfort and long-term support.
